Do Good December: Week 1

By Christy Knell
November 29, 2020

“This past Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, we served a record-breaking 157 families—including 319 adults, 206 children and 62 seniors—for a total of 587 people served. For comparison, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving last year we served 47 families.” —Molly Rodriguez, Dobbs Ferry Food Pantry

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought unprecedented hardship to our fellow neighbors this holiday season. So this December, we’re hoping that the HudCo community can be more impactful than ever, even while we’re staying apart.

We’ve identified four hyper-local organizations that need our help—groups that bring food, warmth, gifts, and aid to our neighbors right here in the Rivertowns.

Over the next four weeks, we’ll zone in on the immediate needs of these organizations and make it convenient and simple for you, our members and friends, to help your community. We’re also here to support you if you need help, please reach out.

For Week 1 (November 30-December 4), we’re focused on replenishing the shelves at the Dobbs Ferry Food Pantry following the Thanksgiving rush. We’ve teamed up with the Dobbs Ferry for Social Justice group on this Food Drive—you can drop off items at HudCo all week, 9a-6p, as well as at Stop & Shop at Broadway and Cedar Street over the weekend.

Super easy option: Order from your phone and ship to us this week! Send to us and we’ll take care of the rest. We’ve created two Amazon shopping lists, one worth $25 and the other $50—order and ship to:

HudCo
