This month, you can build your art collection with affordable prints from local creatives, while also helping to deliver food for new parents in need.

We’ve teamed up with team from NUR Space, the wellness sanctuary located in Hastings-on-Hudson, to raise money for their Community Meal Train program through an online art print sale. NUR is a community space focused on conscious health, pregnancy, birth and postpartum. They developed this innovative meal delivery program to help new parents, particularly BIPOC families, through the often difficult and trying “fourth trimester.”

This online fundraiser includes art prints for $100 and under by some of our favorite local artists and photographers who have graciously donated their work to support NUR’s program. Artists are offering 8-by-10-inch prints priced to sell—in an effort to raise as much as possible toward feeding these local families.

Read below to learn more about NUR Space, and keep an eye out on the HudCo Journal for interviews with the participating artists.

NUR Space founders Cabiria Dougherty, Nuranisa Rae, and Caryn Davis

NUR Director Nuranisa Rae’s calling to open the space came from her birth work and from being raised with a strong sense of community. Nuranisa began her home birth practice and became the Director of Maternal Health at the 1789 Fund which serves to support maternity practices to midwives and nurses in Nepal.

Nuranisa’s work in home birth and in global maternal health led her to share her experiences and promote self-care, understanding of ones self, and physiological birth, and advocate for change.

The wellness collective at NUR offers a wide variety of services for women and new parents, including home birth, well-women visits, homeopathy, Biodynamic CranioSacral birth work, Reiki, pelvic floor health (featuring our HudCo member Ronit Sukenick!), and lactation counseling.
