The mission of Palette Pots is to bring style to the world of plants—one glance at their Instagram and it’s abundantly clear. We’re excited to welcome creator and founder of Palette Pots Latrice Thompson to HudCo this Thursday in honor of Earth Day. Plus, pre-register for her pop-up and we’ll set you up with soil and seedlings with every purchase!

What’s the story behind your brand Palette Pots?
Palette Pots launched July 2020 and it was designed to help plant parents who were having difficulty finding functional planters with drainage holes and planter pots that came in colors that fit their personal aesthetics. Also, Palette Pots was created to make home decor easy!

What inspires your color palette for Palette Pots?
I’m a big fan of Wes Anderson. His color direction and aesthetic really inspired me so I wanted to make sure I incorporate my style with his when curating the Palette Pots collection.

What is your most prized plant in your collection?
My most prized plant is my ZZ Plant (shown below). It’s so beautiful and easy to take care of even for new plant parents.

As a mother of two cats, do you have any recommendations for best plants for pet owners?
I recommend the rattle snack plant, spider plant, and a prayer plant.

It’s fun to see where you have popped up in the past! Do you have any future pop-up plans for the summer?
Yes, Palette Pots will be at the Brooklyn Museum Pop-up on May 9, and also in front of Ode to Babel July 11.

Who are your favorite plant educators, plant shops or instagram accounts to follow?
My favorites are @eargardn, @blackgirlswithgardens and @houseplantclub.

Follow @palettepots on Instagram and shop her line on Earth Day, Thursday, April 22, at the HudCo bar. Register below to reserve your free soil and seeds—available with your Palette Pots purchase.
