We love the beginning of a new year because it tends to bring a slew of exciting additions to the HudCo community. One of these people might just be your next business partner, favorite podcaster, or BFF.

Georgie Kovacs

Resides in: Irvington
Profession & company: Women’s Health Podcast Host and Healthcare Consultant (IG, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube handle: @fempowerhealth; Twitter: @fempower_health)
Favorite local businesses: Salon Topaz (Dobbs Ferry). I have curly hair and have done an amazing job in giving me a cut which requires practically no maintenance, and I love that they advised me on a color that would enhance my features. A high quality indeed!
What excites you most about HudCo?
Getting to know the local community. I’ve lived here just over one year and blown away by the interesting, kind, and fun people.
Fun fact: My grandmother, who had 14 kids and escaped Hungary with them, turns 100 in January.

Karen Kranack

Resides in: Riverdale, or what I like to call Westchester-lite 🙂
Profession & company: I’m a Consumer Experience Designer and Strategist working in digital. My company is called Castle P, and my website is coming soon. (LinkedIn
Favorite local business: I’m obsessed with finding the best chocolate on Earth, and am thrilled to be at HudCo so I can be closer to Cocoa Tree Chocolates in Dobbs Ferry. Seriously great flavors. Worth every calorie.
What excites you most about HudCo? I found HudCo accidentally while looking for a coffee shop. I had no idea that such a fabulous coworking space was within reach. I’m SUPER excited to stop staring at the four walls of my home office, interact with other humans, and hopefully make new connections.
Fun fact: Every fall, I teach a qualitative research class about research for product design at Georgetown University in their Communication, Culture & Technology program.

Michelle Lara

Resides in: I actually live in Rockland County we moved here nearly two years ago, I grew up in Brooklyn, and after getting married to my husband who was in the military at the time we moved around for the first few years of our marriage. The longest place we lived as a family was South Florida and the furthest was in the Willamette Valley in Oregon.
Profession: Luxe Lara Design, Creative Director & Founder. I focus on brand and website design, content creation, and strategies for creative entrepreneurs and lifestyle brands. (Instagram | Facebook
What excites you most about HudCo? I’m really excited about working at HudCo for a few reasons, the first is the beautiful open space is very inspiring, the design aesthetic lends itself to what I do, and when I’m in a beautiful environment I feel more creative. The second (and probably the biggest) reason I’m excited is for connection and community. I’m very big on collaborating and I’m excited to meet other local creatives.
Fun fact: I LOVE to dance and love all kinds of music if I had a superpower it would be making a playlist for just about every life situation (half joking lol). Ed note: PLEASE create a playlist for HudCo!!!

Leslie Malin

Resides in: For the past 17 years I lived in the Hudson Valley in Woodstock and Saugerties. I have just arrived in Yonkers, a walk to Hastings-on-Hudson—quite the change.
Profession: I am a practicing psychotherapist since 1978, and through my business, Alchemy of Aging, I continue to work (now virtually) with adults of all ages who want to break through boundaries, challenge old beliefs about self and their world, find a safe space to explore their feelings, thoughts, relationships, life transitions and more. I am also the author of Cracked Open: The Transformative Power of Failure, Fear, and Doubt.
For inspiration and to “try” and stay focused: I grab a coffee either at Caffe Latte of Climbing Wolf.
Fun fact: I am also a watercolorist and I am seeking a wonderful new teacher and place to work with…any ideas, please send them forward!
