We’re Open This Saturday

By Christy Knell
December 10, 2020

Shop small this Saturday (and, like, all the time if you can) and come by HudCo between 11a and 3p to peruse for your loved ones’ holiday gifts. Picture Book shop owner Sara Davidson will be on site to recommend the best books for the pickiest readers on your list, plus we’ll have one-of-a-kind bags created by Chuck Routhier Studio. And support our Do Good December initiative with your purchase of a seasonal arrangement!

New at the pop-up bookshop this week, just in time for this Saturday: The 2020 National Book Award winner Interior Chinatown by Charles Yu, a hilarious but moving story of a man trying to escape the roles he is forced to play as an Asian American.

The picture book The Not So Quiet Library is a humorous adventure in the library on a Saturday, with Dad, donuts, and monsters by the author & illustrator Zachariah OHora.

Sarah Smarsh, New York Times bestselling author of Heartland, focuses on living legend and humanitarian, Dolly Parton in her new book She Come by It Natural: Dolly Parton and the Women Who Lived Her Songs.  It’s an inspiring tribute to the organic feminism that the icon and many unknown women coming from similar working-poor backgrounds embody.

Our Hudson River Landing neighbor, Chuck Routhier, has launched his new colorblock 100 Bags Project. We are excited to share that these limited edition (and not yet available online) bags will be available for purchase this weekend. Get your own piece of this art project / color study / retail investigation.

And as a part of our HudCo Helps: Do Good December initiative, we will have $25 seasonal arrangements available for purchase—all proceeds going to purchase additional gift cards that go straight to Hastings-on-Hudson’s own Family-to-Family organization. They even look great in one of Chuck’s bags, no?
